This event kicks off the second season of the GRWGA. It will be a little different due to the circumstances of COVID-19. Since golf courses are not allowed by state mandate to allow carts to be used, we will walk and play a 9-hole scramble. It seems walking 18 holes at a hilly course is a harsh way to start, smiles. Here are the details.
Time: Tee times start at 8:30 am - CHANGED from shotgun
Format: Players will be grouped by the tournament committee using an A,B,C,D method. Handicaps will be used to group players and give each foursome a variety of ability in players. This is a gross event so no handicaps will be used to determine team winners. Must use each player’s drive a minimum of one time.
Prizes: Teams with the lowest scores and random teams will get prizes.
Lunch and Awards: Due to restrictions on social gatherings, a box lunch will be provided at the end of the 9-hole round. Team prizes will be in the form of the Golf Galaxy Prize account, random prizes will be sent in the mail or given to individuals at a future event. We know this takes away a lot of the fun we always have during this time of camaraderie. We look forward to getting back to our regularly scheduled lunches and award presentations. Watch Facebook and email for winner announcements.
Welcome Gift & 2020 Players Pass: Your welcome gift and 2020 Players Pass will be available for pick up at check-in at this and other GRWGA events.
Registration: $29 includes 9 hole walking greens fees and a box lunch. Registration closes May 1, 2020. We will hold strong to our registration deadlines, sorry no exceptions.
Pull Carts: Pull carts are available at Alpine at no charge for the Opening Day. Quantities are limited so we will be taking reservations for the carts. Please contact us at info@grwga.com to reserve a cart.
Cancellations: Cancellations within 7 days before the event date can receive a refund less $10 handling fee. Please know that a $10.00 handling fee applies to all cancellations no matter the timing.
Note: If you have already registered and paid for the originally planned event you will be issued a check refund for the difference in registration rate.
Reminder: You will need your Handicomp credentials to register for GRWGA events. If you have questions about access to Handicomp contact us at info@grwga.com.
COVID-19 Safety Protocol:
Keep all pins in. At Alpine, there is a pool noodle around the cup, hit the pool noodle, and count it as a make
Remain 6-feet apart at all times especially at tee boxes and around the hole
Wash/sanitize your hands often
Keep your hands away from your face
We encourage the use of face masks while in and around the clubhouse
Be considerate of high touch areas on the course ie: ball washers, benches, restroom facilities etc.
Use good judgment, stay safe!
