With great excitement, we announce our new partnerships with the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM), USGA GHIN, and Golf Genius. These new partnerships support our continued efforts to align with golf industry standards for handicaps, streamline posting of scores, enhance registration and payment processes (including the ability to register for more than one GRWGA event at a time) and assist with administering the association and its events.
A high percentage of our membership reported in the member survey that they already have a GHIN account; these members will no longer have to duplicate score entry. If you are not experienced with GHIN, GAM, or Golf Genius, no worries, we’ll guide you through learning the system.
We’re working diligently to get the system set up to meet the needs of GRWGA and its members. As soon as we have completed the system set up, we’ll provide instructions, tips, and tricks to utilizing the system. In the meantime, here are a few things to know during this time of transition.
GRWGA members will receive emails from GAM; these emails will contain valuable information as it relates to golf handicapping, rules, other golf industry news, and even special offers.
Our choice to use GHIN, a USGA standard for handicap, replaces the GRWGA’s use of Handicomp, a recreational handicapping system. Member’s past posted scores in Handicomp are entered into the GHIN system, so all current members will have a GHIN handicap to start the 2021 season.
New Members and Members who renew for the 2021 season and do not yet have a GHIN account will be provided with login credentials for their GHIN account to post scores. Access to GHIN account is a benefit of membership.
Training and tips will be provided to 2021 members to learn how to interact with the GHIN app to post scores and the Golf Genius system to register for events and find other valuable player and event information.
Our goal is to make this experience as smooth for our members as possible. We will continue to update and guide as we move through the process.
We already look forward to the next golf season and hope you’ll consider joining us!
