Happy Holidays!

The second season of the GRWGA is in the books, and like all of 2020, it was a time to remember. Although COVID forced us to cancel some pre-season get-togethers, it didn't keep us off the greens. We masked up and hosted all twenty-seven events we planned on, with one thousand and sixty-nine GRWGA rounds played plus more games outside of GRWGA. We were grateful for your patience and cooperation so that golf could be a bright spot during difficult times. Thanks to all of you, our valued members, our volunteers, and the eighteen host courses that helped make the second season a success.

Using the end-of-season survey, fifty percent of our members provided us with some great feedback to consider going into the next season. Some of the changes you will experience in 2021 are based on the survey feedback and include new premier host courses, different event formats, and a new handicapping system. We have established an Advisory Group that will continue to provide ongoing member feedback.

We are excited to announce our new partnerships with the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM), USGA/GHIN, and Golf Genius. These new partnerships support our continued efforts to align with golf industry standards for handicaps, streamline your posting of scores for handicapping, enhance your registration and payment process, including the ability to register for more than one GRWGA event at a time. If you are among the fifty percent of survey respondents who already have a GHIN account, you are likely to be super excited to hear this news. The partnership brings new software that provides many benefits to administering the association and its events.

The 2nd Annual West Michigan Women's Cup, a Ryder Cup-style event in partnership with the Kalamazoo Women's Golf Association, is set for Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at Thornapple Pointe in Grand Rapids, MI. We received so many great compliments on the inaugural event from both associations, and we are working with the KWGA board to make the 2021 event even better.

Once again, the GRWGA plans to have a booth at the West Michigan Golf Show, February 12-14, 2021. There is a level of uncertainty about whether the show can be held due to COVID; we hope for the best. If you attend, please stop by our booth, say hello, and help us continue to spread the word about the GRWGA.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 27, for the "2021 Season Launch Party" at Boulder Creek Golf Club. At this event, we will host some informative golf presentations and a luncheon. This day will be a fun way to kick off the 2021 season.

More great times were had in 2020 – we shared our love of the game. The GRWGA is an association about golf and so much more. Congratulations on your dedication to the game, and you can say with confidence, "Yes, I play golf like a girl… catch me if you can."

Wishing you all a joyful, healthy holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you on the links in 2021.
